It's been 20 days since Girls' Generation released their album "THE BEST."
The girl group's most recent album still stands high on the Oricon Chart in Japan, ranking No. 1 once again, according to an August 12 report on the music website.
"THE BEST" has helped Girls' Generation stay at the top of the charts for two consecutive weeks, rewriting K-pop history in Japan in the process. The popular nine-member girl group was at the top of the charts on the Oricon weekly charts two times before in 2011 and 2013 as well.
"THE BEST" is a compilation of Girls' Generation's 18 biggest hits, including "Genie," "Gee" and the Japanese version of "Mr. Mr," according to the publication AsiaOne.
The members of Girls' Generation will be giving fans the gift of the year later on this month as well.
"In honor of their 7th anniversary since their debut, Girls' Generation will release a photo book of their summer vacation in Las Vegas titled 'GIRLS' GENERATION in Las Vegas,' on August 25," stated the girls' rep, according to Allpop.
The book will be a total of 290 pages and will also contain a photoshoot sketch DVD and poster. Pre-orders have already begun on various online sites.
The girls recently performed in Los Angeles at "KCON 2014" and are scheduled to perform at the "SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR CONCERT" on August 15 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Although the members of Girls' Generation have had the opportunity to work with various artists and producers, idol member Tiffany recently revealed during an interview with InStyle magazine that there's one person she has yet to work with.
"Someday, I would like to work on a song with Lee Hyori," explained Tiffany.
When asked what actor she'd like to work with in the future, the singer stated, "Although he's already married now, I would like to work with actor Lee Byung Hun. I know it's just a dream, but if there's a role that would suit me, I would like to work with him on a Hollywood film."
