Colin Farrell's role in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" provided the biggest twist in the movie. He played the mysterious auror, the magical law enforcer, Percival Graves who was at the center of the film's plot. But upon the reveal of the twist, fans are now wondering what will be Farrell's part on future "Fantastic Beasts" installments.
In a report by Screen Rant, producer David Heyman cleared the uncertainties surrounding Farrell's future in "Fantastic Beasts". He categorically stated that there are no plans on bringing Farrell back for the sequel.
This news will definitely not please many fans of the actor who did a terrific job with the role given. Farrell's Graves was at the center point of the film's plot, with much involvement in the discovery of the Obscurus and had a close contact with an equally mysterious character of Credence, played by Ezra Miller.
Speaking in Snitch Seeker, Heyman answered queries as to whether there is a real life Graves to which Grindelwald impersonated. "That's a very good question. I've been wondering ... I'm amazed more people haven't picked up on that. Yes, there was a real Graves. Yes, someone used some Polyjuice potion and took their place. I don't know where they are at the story's end, But yes, there was a real Graves. We didn't film him. We didn't film the Polyjuice. We just dived into the story midway through."
Farrell is not returning for the film's sequel is due to the fact that the second installment will feature Dumbledore and Scamander together in several scenes. When director David Yates was asked as to details about the second installment, he confirmed the inclusion of a younger Dumbledore.
"In the second movie Dumbledore comes back. He's got a couple of good scenes with Newt... We're discussing who would play Dumbledore, any suggestions would be good. [Laughs]"
