In a handwritten letter addressed to his fans, Moon Hee Jun shared the good news about his engagement to Crayon Pop member Soyul.
"I'm an adult, but writing this, I feel like I've really become an adult. [My fans], I'm going to marry. It's another thing that's changed between us, but for me, you know that you're always first and you're precious to me, right?" the H.O.T member said as per Allkpop.
A month ago, Soyul revealed she is going on a hiatus due to anxiety disorder. Following the engagement news, many fans thought the Crayon Pop member will permanently retire from her career after her marriage. However, Soyul guaranteed she will still be back with the girl group.
On the other hand, while many are happy for the couple, the announcement caused others to raise their eyebrows, claiming Moon and Soyul are planning a shotgun marriage.
Others said they were surprise upon learning about the engagement, stating that they did not even know Moon and Soyul have been seeing each other. "This is the most random news I have ever heard. Anyway congratulations," a netizen commented.
Addressing the rumors, Soyul posted a message on Crayon Pop's fan café seemingly denying rumors of a shotgun marriage. "You all must have been very surprised...I am also extremely nervous right now," she wrote as cited by Soompi.
Soyul went on, "I met and will be getting married to someone I love who wholeheartedly cherishes me and loves me unconditionally."
Her agency, Chrome Entertainment, also emphasized the marriage was thought about and not decided to cover-up something.
