Android Nougat 7.1.1 Release Date: New update almost here! Nexus, Pixel phones priority

Google's Android Nougat 7.1.1 tentative release date revealed. Google Nexus and Pixel phones are the first devices to receive the update soon.

Google's flagship device and Nexus series are the few devices that currently run on Android 7.1 Nougat. Earlier this month the latter received a Developer Preview of the Android OS. It was later announced that another update will be arriving soon.

Reportedly, the final public release to the Android Open Source Project will be next month. Australian carrier Vodafone already listed that Android Nougat 7.1.1 release date will be on December 06. It also revealed that the update is 650MB with build number NMF26F. Security patch for December 2016 is also integrated with the update, according to Fone Arena.

On the first three days of the roll out, the update will be randomly released to selected 10,000 devices. Thus users will be notified via FOTA Push Message or must check the update manually. Then from the third day until the thirteenth day of its release, 10% of the said users will receive the update. Again, it is advised that users must check the update manually.

The list of devices that will likely receive the update next month are LG Nexus 5X, Huawei Nexus 6P. HTC Nexus 9 tablet, Motorola Nexus 6, and Asus-made Nexus 7

According to Android Central, the update will bring new features such as app shortcut menus to the Nexus 6P and include the new raise-to-wake and tap-to-wake features exclusive to Google Pixel XL.
