With fans already eager and yearning for any news for third titles in games like "Portal" and "Left 4 Dead," Valve still needs to also back to its roots and come up with a third title for the game franchise, the "Half-Life" saga.
Valve's very own Steam Awards has given the opportunity for fans to sound off their desire to have "Half-Life 3." That being the case, it was Valves' "Half-Life 2 Episode 2" that deserved the award for "Game that Deserves a Sequel."
According to reports, even Reddit users posted an image emphasizing that "Half-Life 2" should be a game that deserves a sequel. The post was "Upped" by a large number of users - with 700 others placing in the comments that they couldn't agree more. Hopefully, this would convince Valve to start coming up something, like an announcement at least.
Earlier reports claim that Valve hardware engineer Alan Yates said that a small group of AR/VR research team was assembled, which could lead to the possibilities that "Half-Life 3" could accommodate VR support.
There was also that news bit from BBC that involved the Valve Corporation's collaboration with HTC boss Cher Wang, which involved VR (virtual reality). This led to numerous speculations that Valve would be working on a VR platform for "Half-Life 3." However, Wang did clear up that it was a misnomer that she clearly meant Valve in general instead and apologized to fans for the confusion.
Until then, fans would have to cross their fingers and hope that the adventures of Gordon Freeman would continue.
