Tech giant Apple is reportedly gearing up to set its new apple research and development center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The indigenous reports suggest that Apple would begin constructing its structures and hiring employees by early 2017.
According to the Indonesian communication and Information Minister H.E. Rudiantara, the Industry Ministry and the Communication and Informatics Industry are still in the process of finalizing the plan for the upcoming apple research and development center in Jakarta. Rudiantara added that the ministries would begin the execution for the locations by the end of Dec. 2016.
The company would start building its structures and employing staff members for the Jakarta apple research and development center in 2017, Rudiantara told Tempo after the Indonesia PPP Day 2016 celebrations on Nov. 24.
Tempo's post also reported that Apple had proposed several locations in Jakarta for the forthcoming apple research and development center. However, none had been finalized yet. Also, Rudiantara declined to disclose the actual investment value involved in the process of setting up the new R&D center.
Apple's move to set up an apple research and development center in Jakarta is quite similar to the efforts that the company had put to set up a center in Bengaluru, India, reported The Apple Insider. Their report suggested that the technology giant had adopted a different approach while setting up its iOS App Development Center in Italy.
Apple had partnered up with the University of Naples in Italy to offer a nine-month curriculum for free to over 200 students to set up its Italian apple research and development center. The chosen 200 out of 4000 applicants were offered an iPhone, an iPad and a MacBook along with the courseware for free. In 2017, the program would be offered to over 400 students.
In the meanwhile, the Indian apple research and development center in Bengaluru would reportedly begin to extend its support for apple platforms by early 2017.
