D.O. is currently in hot water after he talked about his "Hyung" co-star Lee Do Yeon and their postponed kiss scene in the film.
According to Allkpop, the EXO member reportedly said in a press conference that he was relieved when he and Lee did not execute the intimate scene on "Hyung." D.O. said, "We didn't kiss for real. And I think it's a relief. That's not what I'm saying. It's a joke."
The comments infuriated the netizens, specifically women, who thought the comments were misogynistic and obnoxious not only to the actress but also to women. "Male idols have a lot of influence. We are very sensitive about misogynistic comments," a netizen posted.
Other netizens called out on D.O. to apologize to his "Hyung" co-star, stating that the EXO member was being mean and rude with his remarks. One netizen even shared her own experience where she was called a pig.
"The reason I am more hurt is I've been in a situation like that before...A guy once said, "I almost kissed that pig. Thank God, I didn't. Who would want to kiss her?" in front of my friends," she narrated.
The netizen went on, "I remember being so hurt. D.O...I am crying. Never thought my bias would say something like that..."
However, D.O.'s fans came to rescue their idol, claiming that the EXO member never said Lee is ugly. The fans pointed the netizens were the ones who associated the actress as ugly and not D.O.
Meanwhile, D.O. and his brother on "Hyung," Jo Jung Suk, recently released the music video of the film's credit song titled "Don't Worry My Dear," Soompi reported. The EXO member even described his co-actor as a great singer, adding that it was a good idea for the two of them to sing the ending song.
On the other hand, Jo said they were in character when they recorded the song for "Hyung." He added that the collaboration was a good experience for the both of them.
