"The Hateful Eight" star Samuel L. Jackson, "Freaks of Nature" actress Joan Cusack, and "Other People" actor Bradley Whitford have joined Brie Larson's directorial debut on the independent comedy "Unicorn Store." The "Room" star is making her directorial debut with the project.
Jackson, Cusack, and Whitford will play in undisclosed roles in "Unicorn Store." Larson came on in August and will play Kit who moves back in with her parents, Variety reported. She receives an invitation to a store that will test her ideas of what it really means to grow up.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Unicorn Store" is based on an original screenplay by Samantha McIntyre. Alongside McIntyre, it will be executive produced by Jean-Luc De Fanti and Anne Woodward.
"Unicorn Store" will be produced by Larson, Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis, Lynette Howell Taylor, Terry Dougas, and The District's David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer, who developed the script as well. Hercules Film Fund is fully financing with Rhea Films producing. WME is representing the domestic rights.
"Unicorn Store" is a reunion for Jackson and Larson. He and Larson recently worked together on Warner Bros. "Kong: Skull Island," which will be released on March 10, 2017. He played Lt. Colonel Packard and Larson in a lead character Weaver.
