Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano defended their "Forevermore" director Cathy Garcia-Molina from the recent cursing controversy. The rumored couple claimed that Molina was only trying to turn the talents into better actors.

Speaking to Pep, Gil wondered why the issue only came up a year after the soap ended. Soberano added that the talents, Alvin Campomanes and Rosellyn Domingo, did not know Molina personally. She pointed out that Molina was only doing her job as a director and that was her way of motivating people.

"For me, I worked with her multiple times already so I knew Direk Cathy as a person. He [Alvin] didn't get the whole joke that was going on between our set that Direk Cathy would use," Soberano explained.

Gil added that Molina's attitude towards him and Soberano were sometimes even worse. He, however, claimed that it was the director's way of bringing out the best in an actor. Soberano shared that after a scene, Molina would often come to them and compliment their acting.

Soberano and Gil held that Molina was deeply affected by the controversy. They held that during their "Dolce Amor" taping, they cannot help but notice that Molina is not her usual self. While the director accepted that there will be those who will bash her endlessly because of Campones' complaint, she hoped that they would not drag her family in the issue.

In January 16, Molina finally opened up about the verbal abuse and disrespect complaint filed against her by the "Forevermore" talent. Speaking to Boy Abunda, the director admitted that she cursed at Campomanes and Domingo. She, however, insisted that she only did it in an effort to bring out the best in the artists.

Molina added that it was not her intention to hurt anybody. She explained that she has been under a lot of pressure to produce quality series for the fans. The director added that it would be unfair to suspend her, like what Campomanes is asking on his letter, given that the incident was unintentional.

The "Dolce Amor" director shared that she will be more than willing to talk to Campomanes and Domingo and apologize for her shortcomings.
