"Going SEVENTEEN" features a total of eight songs, including "Beautiful," "Lean on Me," "Smile Flower," and their lead single "BOOMBOOM." The style of their songs ranges from upbeat dance-pop to acoustic ballad.
The 13-member act also called "Going SEVENTEEN" by far, as the band's best album since its debut. One of its member, Woozi, revealed, "Listening to our new songs, all members agreed that this is the best album that we've worked on so far," Yonhap News reported.
The 20-year old singer-song writer further revealed that they keep on listening to the songs during their mixing and mastering period for the album. "With how much musical diversity we put into the album, we could vividly tell it was SEVENTEEN's music."
The group is known for making their own songs, and writing lyrics for all of their songs, which merits them the nickname "self-producing" idol group. "SEVENTEEN" was formed by Pledis Entertainment and debuted in May 2015 through a live showcase televised on MBC.
In the same year, their first EP "17 Carat" was released together with MV for the title track "Adore U." The album ranked ninth on Billboard World Albums chart and stayed on the chart eleven weeks. Later, their first EP became the longest-charting K-pop album of the year in the United States and was the only novice album to appear on Billboard's "10 Best K-pop Albums of 2015" chart.
