Netizens are comparing Kim Go Eun's acting from her previous project "Cheese in the Trap" and current drama "Goblin," debating whether the actress did great as Hong Seol or commending her portrayal of Ji Eun Tak.
Allkpop reported Kim is currently receiving praises for her acting on "Goblin," pointing out the actress' aura which they said suits well to the character she is playing in the drama series.
"Kim Go Eun is perfect for the role, acts well, and is pretty in my eyes," a netizen wrote. The statement was supported by another one who said, "Isn't Kim Go Eun's acting the best? She looks like a total baby when she smiles."
Despite positive feedbacks from the viewers, others thought Kim played her role better on "Cheese in the Trap," claiming the actress acted Hong Seol's role effectively. "She was perfect for Hong Seol on "Cheese in the Trap," but on ["Goblin"], I can't feel her charm. It kind of seems like she's just tagging along on her own," a commenter posted.
Other viewers said they are not pleased with Gong Yoo and Kim's chemistry on "Goblin"; however, many netizens expressed they will continue to watch the actress in her current drama series.
On Aug. 30 Kim and the rest of "Goblin" cast were spotted in their first script reading at the Nuri Dream Square Business Tower, Soompi cited. Reports claimed the first day of pre-production lasted for four hours, emphasizing that the actors were all focused in reading the storyline of the drama.
"Writer Kim Eun Sook and producing director Lee Eung Bok took the lead. The script read-through was passionate and the actors all matched well together. We have confidence that we can make a production that will conclude 2016 with a flourish," a production staff said.
