It's confirmed! YG Entertainment artists will be attending the "2016 SBS Gayo Daejun." "SBS Gayo Daejun" is an annual end-of-the year music program by Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS).
Fans recently revealed their great disappointment regarding the absence of YG Entertainment artists during "2016 MAMA." It seems like the busy schedule of the YG artists is not too tight these days anymore, as their label recently announced that, "Sechskie, Black Pink, and BIGBANG will perform on stage during the "2016 SBS Gayo Daejun," Allkpop reported.
To confirm the news, on Dec. 5, YG Entertainment released a statement, saying, "BIGBANG has been confirmed to attend the '2016 SBS Gayo Daejun' which will be held from Dec. 22 to 26 at COEX Mall," Soompi reported. Previously, the group is in the midst of their preparation for their much awaited comeback causing their absence on "2016 MAMA."
"SBS Gayo Daejun" is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and with BIGBANG celebrating their 10th anniversary, fans are curious to see what will be the group's performance at the event. BIGBANG is set to perform on the last day of the awards festival.
Also known as "SAF," "SBS Gayo Daejun" started in 1997, and awards were given to entertainers until 2007. In 2014, SBS announced that the award segment of the music program would comeback as part of SBS' Awards Festival.
In 2012, "SBS Gayo Daejun" has a theme called "The Color of K-Pop," wherein some of the biggest groups created four super idol groups, recorded a new single, and performed it together on stage. Four groups called "Mystic White," "Dramatic Blue," "Dynamic Black," and "Dazzling Red" are present consisting of members from different idol groups.
"Mystic White" features K-pop idols such as Jinyoung, Bora, and Sunhwa. In the group "Dramatic Blue," K-pop bands like BEAST, 2AM, and INFINITE are part of the group. K-pop idols Gikwang, Jinwoon, and Hoya are in "Dynamic Black." While Kara, SISTAR, and 4Minutes belongs to the "Dazzling Red" group.
