"Destiny 2" seems to be the one of the most highly-anticipated game "Halo" studio Bungie is set on releasing next year. The sequel to the 2014 game will have entirely new direction such as more RPG elements.
The first "Destiny" game was intended to be a game changer for console gamers, to have MMO elements in a first person shooter game. When the game was released, however, it mostly received average score at best with reviewers criticizing its lack of content, confusing story and a bland world.
"Destiny" was able to get some improvement through numerous updates, but that still fell short of what Bungie had intended the game to be at the first place. Thus, this result to what they hope for in "Destiny 2."
On his Twitter page, BioWare's lead producer Cameron Lee has just announced that he'll be collaborating with Bungie for the upcoming "Destiny 2."
"Happy to say I've joined Bungie as Executive Producer of a new project. Excited to talk about it in the future," Lee tweeted. This will undoubtedly lead to developing "Destiny 2."
With the $500 million investment that Activision had given to Bungie, it would be highly unlikely that the studio would suddenly cease production of the potentially epic game.
Lee has been known to work on critically-acclaimed games from BioWare such as "Dragon Age: Inquisition." With Bungie's Luke Smith directing "Destiny 2," Cameron Lee has been brought in as the new producer for the game.
With the open-world aspects of "Dragon Age: Inquisition," along with its vast range of customizations, it's safe to assume that "Destiny 2" will expand more on that with the help of Cameron Lee.
"Destiny 2" has also been considered to be similar in situation with Blizzard's "Diablo 2." Both sequels of each franchise, in which they have little connection with the first game, are considered to be vastly different than their predecessors.
"Destiny 2" is slated to be released sometime in 2017.
