Since its initial release, fans of "Dragon Ball Super" enjoy the popular anime series in its original, Japanese language. But fans will soon get the opportunity to watch the series in its official English language dubbing.
Official Announcement and Premiere
According to Comic Book, "Dragon Ball Super" is set to premiere on Jan 7, 2017 in its official English dubbing. The English translation was under Funimation and the broadcasting of the series in English language is through Adult Swim's anime block Toonami. The series is expected to continue broadcasting fresh episodes every Saturday since its release.
It's interesting to note that the upcoming anime series for "Dragon Ball Super" will run for 26 episodes as its first season, according to IGN. If the anime series in English language is set for 26 episodes, the English translation will cover significant amount of storyline in the anime series. While it doesn't cover half of the current episodes in Japanese, it is more than enough to set the story of the popular franchise.
Two Story Arcs
The first season of the upcoming series will cover two story arcs: the "Battle of the Gods" arc and "Resurrection 'F'" arc. For fans of the long running anime series, these two arcs are actually stand-alone movies and they feature some of the greatest battles of Super Saiyans. The upcoming series practically stretches the story and provides additional fighting.
These two story arcs are a prelude of something even bigger. While Goku and Vegeta encounter some of the greatest fighters in history, their encounter with gods in alternate universes leads to another fighting tournament. The fighters featured in the tournament contain some fighters in the past and present but in an alternate universe.
The upcoming anime series in the long running "Dragon Ball" franchise is finally coming in English language. It will offer a brand new perspective to fans worldwide because of the English interpretation of the characters.
