SHINee has served as an inspiration not only to their fans, but also to other K-Pop idols who are just starting to pave their way in the music industry.
On the Dec. 8 broadcast of "Cultwo Show," Seventeen's Hoshi admitted he is a huge fan of SHInee even before he debuted with the group in 2015. The idol started sharing about his admiration when a caller claimed he saw Hoshi watching SHINee's concert.
"My dad is friends with Taemin's uncle, so when I was in the sixth grade, I received a SHINee CD through the mail. I didn't have the dream of becoming a singer at the time, but as I listened to SHINee's songs, I started to dream of becoming a singer," Hoshi said as per Allkpop.
The SEVENTEEN member has been vocal about his admiration towards SHINee. Previously, Hoshi revealed he listens to SHINee's music almost every night before he goes to sleep, Soompi reported.
Hoshi added he was so elated when he first saw SHINee in person. Meanwhile, Hoshi and the rest of SEVENTEEN recently made their comeback with the release of their mini-album called "Going Seventeen" and title track "BOOMBOOM."
SEVENTEEN's new single dominated in several online music charts after it was released on Dec. 5. Not only that, their "Going Seventeen" album sold over 50,000 copies within three days, which is a milestone for the boy group.
Reports claimed the figures are expected to double over the weekend for SEVENTEEN's mini-album. Aside from that, the "BOOMBOOM" MV recorded over 3 million views on YouTube in just four days, which can be attributed to the group's overseas fans.
In July, SEVENTEEN held their "1st Asia Tour 2016 Shining Diamonds" in Japan, Singapore, Australia, China and South Korea. The rookie boy group attracted over 13,000 concertgoers in their shows in Seoul.
