While we've been given a look at the upcoming "Last of Us: Part II" sometime last week, game studio Naughty Dog actually gave hints of the sequel long before that - right under our noses.

It was actually spotted by Reddit user soapaddict97 that the design for the poster (as seen above) of the celebrated "Outbreak Day" earlier on September did uncannily resemble the protagonist in the sequel, who is none other than Ellie.

The suspicion of that particular tattoo design was corroborated by by Naughty Dog communications manager Scott Lowe on the studio's official Twitter page, whom further validated it with an image depicting the tattoo design in better detail:

Knowing how Naughty Dog loves paying attention to details, it's fitting that they would have time to do those kinds of quips.

Well it may be a little too late that these details may reveal the big news that is "The Last of Us: Part II" since we do know a lot about the game already from its big reveal from its trailer showing a newer, more mature Ellie (in a darker light as well), the director Bruce Staley not returning to direct the long-awaited sequel and the big news of creative director Neil Druckmann's collaboration in the story's narrative.

This collaboration will be including big-time "Westworld" writer Halley Gross, who worked on the show's episodes like "Trompe L'Oeil" and "The Adversary," while working as a story editor for the other episodes like "The Stray" and "Chestnut."

Druckmann said that with Gross co-writing the game's story is a "kickass" experience. He further added: "Can't wait to share more of the story with y'all. Spoiler alert: it's intense."

So far, we don't know how the story will be fleshed out but one thing is for sure is going to be epic - or as the creative director put it, "intense."
