Coleen Garcia has declared that she will no longer return as a host of ABS-CBN's noontime show "It's Showtime." She claims she will be prioritizing her acting career in 2016.
In an interview with a local ABS-CBN News anchor, the young actress said that her focus for this year will be her upcoming movie with Dawn Zulueta and Piolo Pascual. She is also occupied with her drama sequel "Pasion de Amor."
Garcia, who joined "It's Showtime" almost three years ago, claims she was barely present in the noontime show during the second half of 2015. She says she'll not be returning, as her management insisted that she will need to focus more on her acting.
Asked about her role in the upcoming Star Cinema movie with director Gino M. Santos, the actress revealed that she will be portraying a socialite who has an "unmarked" relationship with Pascual's character.
Garcia says the characters they portrayed in the movie are within the current lifestyles of today. She is a socialite while Pascual plays a DJ. Definitely, the latter will learn how to spin. Zulueta plays a fashion designer where all three cross paths with each other.
This is going to be a great film as it is a "coming-of-age" film, according to reports. This is also her lightest film, after she featured in "#Y' and the passionate movie "Ex with Benefits."
Garcia was also asked if she has plans to marry long-time boyfriend, actor and television-host Billy Crawford. The latter has openly admitted that he will not hesitate to marry her someday.
She says she has ended up with her boyfriend, but still has no plans of marriage, specifically in 2016. They discuss the idea every now and then; however, there are not just any plans yet.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Garcia was ousted from the show because of her recent vacation. Garcia and Crawford spent an adventure into the national parks of Kenya, and bonded with the people and the animals. However, there is no confirmation yet whether Colleen was fired due to such vacation.
