Former BEAST member Jang Hyun Seung renewed his contract with Cube Entertainment. The 27-year old singer previously left BEAST to continue his career as a soloist.
On Dec. 13, Cube Entertainment issued an official statement regarding Jang's contract. "Jang Hyun Seung has signed an exclusive contract with Cube. We will be providing him with lots of support and assistance so that he moves on step forward as a mature artist," Soompi reported.
The agency also revealed the deliberation of the group's contract. Stressing, that Jang renewal and BEAST's contract are two different things.
It can be recalled that the group previously considered to continue their career outside of Cube Entertainment. However, the label unveiled to Xport News, "Although it is true that the contract between CUBE and BEAST is over, the matter of contract renewal is still under discussion and nothing has been decided yet," Koreaboo has learned.
Since October, BEAST has been in discussion with Cube Entertainment regarding the contract renewal. In a similar note, Cube Entertainment is also continuously offering proposal to BEAST and is currently waiting with the group's decision.
Formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment, the group consists of five members, Yoon Doo Joon, Yong Jun Hyung, Yang Yo Seob, Lee Gi Kwang, and Son Dong Woon. In October of the same year, the group debuted with their first mini-album "Beast Is the B2ST."
Despite being referred to as "a group of recycled material" by various media outlets, BEAST has achieved significant commercial and critical awards. As a matter of fact, the group won the "Bonsang" award during "Seoul Music Award" in 2011 and 2012.
In the same year, the group won the "Daesang" award at the "Melon Music Awards." BEAST was also hailed as "Album of the Year" for their album "Fiction and Fact" during the Gaon Chart Awards in the second quarter of 2011.
