"The Legend of the Blue Sea" starrer Jun Ji Hyun was listed as one of the "Top 10 Best Actors of 2016." The list was compiled by Gallup Korea.
The survey was conducted by Gallup Korea between Nov. 4 and 25, with 1,700 Korean men and women aging 13 and above as respondents. The respondents will pick two best movie stars of their choice.
Nabbing the top spot is actor Hwang Jung Min of "The Violent Prosecutor (2015)," "The Wailing (2016)," and "Asura: The City of Madness (2016)." Tailing in second is Song Gang Ho of "The Age of Shadows (2016)," KpopHerald reported.
Landing in the 3rd rank is Gong Yoo of "Train to Busan," followed by Ha Jung Woo of "The Handmaiden," and Yoo Hae Jin of "LUCK-KEY," wrapping up the top five on the list.
Lee Byung Hun of "Magnificent 7" got the 6th rank, followed by Lee Jung Jae of "Operation Chromite," and Jung Woo Sung of "Asura: The City of Madness," on the 8th rank.
Next in the list is Jun Ji Hyun of "The Age of Shadows," and Ma Dong Suk from "Train to Busan," capping off the top ten best actors of 2016.
Jun, coming at ninth, was the only female actor in the list. A local media outlet even divulged that the 35-year old actress is the pride of the Korean actresses in the widely male-dominated field.
Meanwhile, her ongoing SBS' drama "The Legend of the Blue Sea" remains as the most viewed Wednesday-Thursday drama. The viewership rating of the drama went up as high as 21.3 percent in Seoul's Metropolitan area, as reported by Soompi.
Since its premiere, the drama has also kept its top spot, as well as their high rank on online communities and portal sites. Their latest episode, which broadcasted last Dec. 14, recorded a 16.6 percent viewership rating nationwide, remaining in first place against it competitors.
