Disney XD, the channel of the American entertainment behemoth aimed primarily at pre-teens and young teenagers, has announced that it will air the English dubbed "Beyblade Burst" television anime and will premiere on December 19.
According to Anime News Network, Disney XD will gove "Beyblade Burst" a two-week premiere event, airing new episodes from Monday to Saturday 9 AM, from December 19 to December 31. Afterwards, "Beyblade Burst" will move to its regular timeslot 8:30 AM on Saturdays.
However, this is the first North American broadcast of the television anime series. "Beyblade Burst" has already aired on September 10 in Canada's Teletoon channel.
"Beyblade Burst" first aired in Japan on April 4. It is under the direction of Katsuhito Akiyama of "Inazuma Eleven" fame with character designs from Toshiaki Ōhashi, the chief animation director of "Danbōru Senki Wars".
Aside from the airing of the anime series in North America, there also plans of releasing toys and merchandise outside of Japan. This is after Hasbro, the toy company, and Sunrights have acquired the rights to "Beyblade Burst" toys.
In Canada, Toys "R" Us has launched in September "Beyblade Burst" toys. This will be followed by Sunrights launch of the "Beyblade Burst" app for iOS and Android devices. This app will allow owners to scan their toys and battle with each other once connected via wifi.
The production company d-rights described "Beyblade Burst" as:
"Beyblades are the most popular battle tops in the world. Boys around the globe put their hearts and souls into fierce Beyblade battles.
Valt Aoi is a fifth-grade elementary school student who is crazy about Beyblade. Valt's best friend since childhood, Shu Kurenai, is hailed as a Beyblade prodigy and has already been named as one of the National Beyblade Tournament's Final Four. Inspired by Shu's accomplishments, Valt sets his sights on reaching this year's national tournament.
But to get to the big leagues, he must first emerge victorious from the district tournament--no easy feat, given the tough opponents standing in his way.
Determined to win, Valt aims to make it to the championship, where he hopes to battle Shu and move on to the national tournament. As he battles, Valt broadens his circle of friends and reaches new heights. Without even realizing it, he has begun to dream of becoming the best Blader in the world."
