The San Antonio Spurs (20-5) clash with the Phoenix Suns (8-17) on Thursday, Dec. 15 at the Talking Stick Resort Arena as the 2016-2017 NBA regular season continues.

Preview

San Antonio is on a two-game winning run after suffering their first road loss against the Bulls on Dec. 8. The team has won six of their last seven games to remain in the second spot of the Western Conference standings, just one-and-a-half games behind conference leaders and West champions Golden State Warriors.

The Spurs are coming off a 108-101 win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday at their home court of AT&T Center, as per SB Nation.

Kawhi Leonard led head coach Gregg Popovich's squad as usual with 26 points on 9-for-17 field goal shooting. He also had three rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block.

Pau Gasol had a double-double of 17 points and 13 boards with six assists, two steals, and a block while Tony Parker contributed 16 points, two rebounds, and seven assists. David Lee, who started at the power forward position, had 10 rebounds and eight points.

Off the bench, three players scored in double figures, namely Manu Ginobili, Dewayne Dedmon, and Patty Mills, who had 12, 10, and 10 points respectively.

Meanwhile, the Suns pulled off a 113-111 overtime victory over the New York Knicks last Tuesday also at their home court of Talking Stick Resort Arena, Arizona Sports reported.

All five of Suns coach Earl Watson's starters scored in double digits led by 31 points from Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe also had six rebounds and eight assists.

Rookie Marquese Chriss had a double-double of 14 points and 12 boards as the starting power forward while veteran center Tyson Chandler had 13 points and a monstrous 23 rebounds.

PJ Tucker fired 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds with three steals while young gun Devin Booker chipped in 12 points despite a bad shooting night.

Prediction

After their loss to the Bulls, the Spurs are now 13-1 on the road. The Suns are poor at home with a 4-7 record so far this season. San Antonio is a clear favorite to win this one.
