South Korean girl group TWICE has once again made their mark in the entertainment industry after being named as the highest selling girl group album of all times in two of the country’s popular charts.
According to reports, TWICE has broken the previous records of Hanteo chart and Gaon chart. Furthermore, the band has also sold over 150,000 copies in the record of Hanteo and a total of 220,000 copies on Gaon.
Just recently, the band was also named as the “top girl group in terms of brand value” for the month of December by the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation (also known as KICR) with total points of 7,807,847. Next to the group are the MAMAMOO, Black Pink, IOI, G-Friend, Red Velvet, A Pink, Rainbow, T-ara, Girls' Generation, and so on.
Meanwhile, it was also recently revealed that TWICE is set to perform in the upcoming “2016 KBS Gayo Festival” on December 29. According to a report by All KPop, other KPop stars including Taeyeon, SHINee, INFINITE, CNBLUE, Eunji, EXO, B.A.P, BTOB, VIXX, EXID, AOA, BTS, Han Dong Geun, GOT7, Red Velvet, MAMAMOO, MONSTA X, Seventeen, G-Friend, and IOI will also grace the much anticipated event.
TWICE made their debut in the entertainment industry in 2015 through the reality show “Sixteen” under the management of JYP Entertainment. It is composed of nine members namely Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu.
The band is known for their hit songs "Cheer Up", "One in a Million", "Jelly Jelly", and "Like OOH-AHH". Their latest single “TT” is currently at the seventh spot at the Gaon Chart National Digital Singles Ranking. Furthermore, “TWICEcoaster _ LANE 1” was also on the seventh spot on the physical album category.
