Following his shocking removal from SBS variety show "Running Man," singer Kim Jong Kook will invest more time in his music career and activities with Turbo. His agency assures fans that he will continue to be active after "Running Man" wraps up in February 2017.
Even though reports claim that Kim Jong Kook was forced out of "Running Man," it appears that he bears no personal grudges against the show. Proving his love and devotion to the variety program, it is said that he will continue to take part in "Running Man" activities until its final broadcast in February, Koreaboo reported.
Kim Jong Kook is also working on an album with Turbo. The group plans to release their new material once they've decided on a title track. He's been working with Duble Sidekick since summer this year and has recorded several songs for Turbo's new album.
It has been reported that both Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook are going to donate their remaining appearance fees from "Running Man."
"Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook have agreed to collect their income from the appearance fees that they will receive starting from next week to the end of the program in February to give to the public," Song Ji Hyo's agency said, as quoted by The Jakarta Post. The agency added that details as to the donations are still being discussed.
Meanwhile, "Running Man" will embark on a fan meeting until March, which will mark the end of the long-running variety program. The cast will visit six countries where they will hold two fan meetings per month. Song Ji Hyo, Yoo Jae Suk and Gary will not attend the said fan meetings. Broadcasts for "Running Man," however, will cease on February 2017.
"Running Man" first aired in 2010. Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook were two of the show's original cast members.
