As 2016 is about to end, broadcasting stations are concluding the year with annual award ceremonies to honor outstanding artists in their networks. KBS was first to hold its Entertainment Awards on Dec. 24 and the event gathered the station's variety and comedy show artists.
The 2016 KBS Entertainment Awards was broadcast live and millions of viewers watched the event. Park Bo Gum and Red Velvet's Irene reunited as award presenters and fans cannot help but notice the pair's great chemistry which sparked dating rumors in the past.
The awards night was hosted by Yoo Hee Yeol, Girl's Day Hyeri and Lee Hwi Jae. For the opening number, the Unnies presented their hit track "Shut Up." Fans and the audience were also surprised when Girls Generation's Tiffany joined the group for the performance.
This year's Daesang or Grand Prize Award went to "2 Days and 1 Night" main cast member, Kim Jong Min. KBS News reported that Jong Min finally won the award after nine years in the field of variety shows.
"2Days and 1 Night" also won the Viewer's Choice Award while Special Producer's Choice Award went to Park Jin Young for "Sister's Slam Dunk." As shared by My Daily, below are the complete list of winners:
