The highly anticipated "On the Wings of Love" finale is set to premiere this February 26. While fans of James Reid and Nadine Lustre are disappointed to see the series come to an end, the onscreen couple hinted that Clark and Leah's love story will have a happy ending.
According to ABS-CBN, Reid and Lustre admitted that they cannot help but feel sad with the series ending. They held that they enjoyed playing Clarke and Leah, adding that their story is really something special.
The actress shared that their director, Antoinette Jadaone, wanted "On the Wings of Love" to end on a happy note. With all the challenges that Leah faced, Lustre said that she is just relieved to see her character end up with the man she loves. She added that she eventually became a fan of Clark and Leah's love story.
Both stars, however, refused to reveal details on the finale. Many "OTWOL" fans wished that the story will conclude with Clarke and Lea having a church wedding.
ABS-CBN recently released a teaser of what's to come in the series finale. It showed the couple bumping into each other in the streets of San Franciso, where they first met.
Both Clark and Lea looked extremely surprised in the trailer, which caused many fans to wonder if the meeting was a coincidence. They speculated that the two eventually broke up and the ending will be set in a five or ten-year time jump. On the other hand, some claimed that, in typical Filipino fashion, one of them ended up having an amnesia and it will be the first time they will see each other after a long time.
In October, the network revealed that "On the Wings of Love" will be extended until 2016. Reid and Lustre thanked the fans for their continuous support for the series. They held that the extension was their way of giving back to their loyal Jadine supporters.
According to Bandera, fans of "OTWOL" are once again hoping that ABS-CBN will extend the soap. Unfortunately, with their post- Valentine concert and world tour, it will reportedly be impossible to extend the series further.
