Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and YG Entertainment recently addressed the controversy regarding the absence of YG artists on KBS shows. Earlier, the broadcasting network also denied airing one of YG artists' songs due to inappropriate lyrics.

On Dec. 29, a source from the KBS variety department revealed, "It is not true that BIGBANG's appearance on an end-of-year program fell through. We had positive talks with YG's side, but the situation just wasn't right this time," Soompi reported.

KBS also plead to shun away any wild speculations regarding the controversy. Adding that although the program's producing director and YG Entertainment were in talks about the appearance does not mean that all singers will end up appearing on the show.

The source also added that speculations about rejecting a particular agency or has bad relationships towards them is not good especially making reports based on facile issues. Stressing that the timing just wasn't right.

In response to the controversy, a rep from YG Entertainment released an official statement. "BIGBANG has labored for a long time in order to appear on KBS music program, but they've yet to receive a response, which is a shame and for which they feel sorry towards the fans," Allkpop revealed.

Following YG's statement, it raises more speculation that KBS' entertainment department and YG Entertainment are not on good terms. We can recall that KBS previously banned BIGBANG's "FXXK IT" from airing citing that the lyrics is inappropriate for national broadcast.

The broadcasting network claimed that the decision was based on the curses, slang, and vulgar expressions used in the song. BIGBANG's label earlier revealed that they don't have plans on modifying the problematic part of the song, so the song can be broadcast-friendly.

Founded in 1972, KBS is one of the biggest television network in South Korea. It operates not just on television but also in radio and online services.
