"Super Mario Run" used to rule the App Store that it even has a title of the highest-grossing app. Unfortunately, that has come to an end on December 28, as its players have eventually lost interest.
In an article posted by Tech Times, it has been a while that "Super Mario Run" has hit the number 1 spot in sales and downloads that it was on top of its game in 138 countries. The question as to what made it lose its rank started became a buzz and one of the theories from experts say that it has to do with its price.
The company, Nintendo, decided to charge people with $9.99 in order to unlock the full game. Although, the game is initially free for download, but as soon as a gamer reaches the fourth level onwards, a payment has to be made to unlock the full game to continue. This is among the major reasons that its customers lost their interest in playing with it.
Users even created some negative reviews at the App Store calling the company greedy and stingy for implementing such pricing rules. One of them said it was fun at first until they are asked to pay upon reaching level 4.
But despite the whole issue in losing customers, the company doesn't seem to want to stop their service, as they are even thinking of penetrating the Android app market this time. According to Tech Mic, Nintendo just recently made "Super Mario Run" official for Google Play Store.
As for the release date, it is still up in the air and the company has not yet announced it, but it is definitely some good news for Android users who would like to try this game out. A pre-registration is now open through its official page, which hints that its release date is just around the corner.
