With "Running Man" coming to an end next month, Kim Jong Kook has already bagged himself a new project. The star will soon be seen on the KBS2 reality-variety show, "1 Night 2 Days."
Kim recently wrapped up a recording for MBC as a member of "TURBO" and had the opportunity to interact with fans, according to All Kpop. During the fan meeting, one of his fans asked him whether he would ever make an appearance on "1 Night 2 Days," to which Kim responded in the affirmative.
He did not provide any further details about when he would start filming for the Kang Ho Dong-hosted program but his appearance on the show in the near future has been confirmed. Fans are already waiting to see Kim share screen space with his best friend Cha Tae Hyun on the show.
Running Man" was plagued by controversy ever since it was announced that long-time cast members Kim and Song Ji Hyo will be leaving the show. It was later confirmed that both stars were fired from the show without notice and the pair found out about their sacking through media reports.
The production's unfair treatment of Song and Kim led to backlash from fans and even caused Kang to back out of his decision to join the second season of "Running Man." The controversy called for an emergency meeting between staff and cast members, after which the decision was made to end the show in February 2017.
Last month, Kim's agency announced that after "Running Man," Kim will continue to focus on his music career. The agency added that Kim and his "TURBO" bandmates are currently working on a new album, which is expected to release early this year. The agency also revealed that Kim recorded a number of tracks in collaboration with Duble Sidekick, Koreaboo previously reported.
