Star Empire Entertainment's representatives on "Produce 101" namely, Han Hyeri, Kim Yoon Ji and Kang Shi Hyun are gearing up to make a debut soon!
According to Soompi, a source affiliated with Star Empire Entertainment revealed they have signed an exclusive contract with Han Hyeri in 2016; hence, the idol was previously reported to make a debut over the summer.
"The girl group she's a part of is in their final stages of preparing for debut, and they are planning to release their debut album in the beginning of this year. Han Hyeri is currently preparing with Kim Yoon Ji and Kang Shi Hyun," the source said.
The source refused to give further details about the upcoming girl group; however, it said the label is considering other possibilities, which raised speculations that they might be adding other members along the way.
In May, Han Hyeri was rumored to be debuting with a new girl group under the label. Reports previously claimed Star Empire Entertainment was supposed to introduce the group during the second half of 2016, Allkpop noted.
Although the release date was not revealed, the label was then certain that Han Hyeri and the group will make their debut in that year. Also, Star Empire Entertainment has revealed their plan for additional members of the upcoming girl group.
"We are also in discussion on additional members other than Han Hyeri, Kim Yoon Ji, and Kang Shi Hyun. The group formation will depend on the song concepts," the label said.
Han Hyeri, Kim Yoon Ji and Kang Shi Hyun formed the group OMZM. They competed against other trainees from different agencies on Mnet's "Produce 101." Han Hyeri fell short at rank 12, missing the opportunity to debut with project girl group I.O.I.
In the same year, Han Hyeri debuted with project girl group I.B.I under Loen Entertainment.
