Nintendo already announced the forthcoming server maintenance on the Nintendo 3DS online services. The maintenance will start on January 9th, until further announcement of the server uptime.
It may seem a bad news for several fans of the Nintendo 3DS who used to play via online. Nintendo tends to temporarily close the 3DS online service for a server maintenance.
Sending the 3DS online service to an offline mode is a rare case for them, for they are known for a server stability. The server maintenance is a standard procedure to increase and sustain the server's stability and consistency, Cinema Blend has learned.
In a press release made by the DualShockers, the 3DS server maintenance will start at exactly 5pm until 7pm, both on PST time zone. The UK maintenance will start 1am to 3am on the 10th of January.
Nintendo reassured that the services such as leaderboards, rankings and other online multiplayer stuff will be back as soon as the maintenance is done. No further changes or deletion for any recent activities and achievements.
In this case, 3DS community who are scheduled for any transactions, tournaments and events on that day will be removed. 3DS owners also need to restart or reboot their handheld video game console in order to perform some updates and changes for the online services.
As of today, fans are starting to ask if there will some major changes on the services of the Nintendo 3DS on March, once the Nintendo Switch is released. It may seem to have some changes on the 3DS online services that will incorporate the 3DS to the Switch, like the PS VITA, PS3 and PS4.
On the other side of the news about Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch Presentation is about to start this January 12th. The much awaited event for the upcoming Nintendo Switch will be held at Tokyo, Japan.
At the event, Nintendo will announce officially all the information about the new hybrid video game console, including its specs. Game titles that will come along the Nintendo Switch release will also be announced along with some future plans, hopefully that includes the Nintendo VR.
