On Jan. 8, the NBA will field eight basketball games featuring Cavs and Warriors facing different opponents in the regular season. But the spotlight is on the big men this Sunday as they are poised to put up monster numbers against their opponents.
Noel and Embiid - Philadelphia 76ers
Bad news for Jahlil Okafor, it looks like the big men for the 76ers is Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid. He was listed as DNP according to CSN Philly and its possible that he'll ride the benches again when they face the New Jersey Nets on Sunday. Brook Lopez will have his hands full against these two and Ilyasova will provide additional nightmare for the Nets on game time.
Marc Gasol - Memphis Grizzles
The spirits are high for the Grizzles as they recently trumped Golden State Warriors in OT even with huge deficit. With this found confidence, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph will put up numbers against the frontcourt defense of the Utah Jazz. Their gritty offense will most likely push the surging young team in the West.
Speaking of Golden State Warriors, the team will look to bounce back as they face the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Cousins will be on full display against a powerful offensive team because of home court advantage. If he'll find enough help and stop the key shooters of the Warriors, they have a chance of giving Curry and the gang a losing streak.
Recommended Game for Sunday: Washington Wizards at Milwaukee Bucks
According to Yahoo Sports game preview, the upcoming game will be a frontcourt battle of two young teams. John Wall is always exciting to watch and he'll rally his team to beat the all-star like prowess of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates. Both are nearly identical in their win-loss record (17-18 Wizards, 18-17 Bucks) and they will count heavily on their front court to put a dent on their opponents.
