Nokia is confirmed to release the first Android operated smarthphone after tying up with the Microsoft a few years ago. To be released by the HDM Global, the Nokia 6 will feature a standard Android smartphone, which will be released exclusively in China on its initial release.
After a few years of silence and committing not to use the Android Operating System, the Finnish company known as Nokia will is about to launch its first Android mobile phone. Another Finnish company called HMD Global now holds the rights on the Nokia devices after the Microsoft's abandonment as per the EnGadget reported.
The HMD Global will be releasing the Nokia 6 as the their first joint-venture product and is confirmed to release first in China. The Nokia 6 is expected to compete with the existing big names such as the Samsung phones and the top of the line iPhone by Apple.
The Nokia 6 is a smartphone that will use the new Android Nougat operating system. A 5.5-inch smartphone is packed 16MP rear camera and an MP camera in the front and will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. This new smartphone will also come with a variant of 4GB RAM and a 64GB RAM.
Economic Times said in their press release that the new Nokia 6 will be out in the market in China for 1,600 Yuan or about $245. The upcoming Nokia 6 is manufactured by the famous Foxconn, the company known to create several smartphones for several kinds of brands.
We may recall a few years ago that Nokia struggles to compete against several mobile phone companies as the phone technology advances to being a smart device. After a couple of years of struggle, Nokia was forced to sell itself to the Microsoft back in 2011.
As of today, the Nokia is under the HMD Global as the Microsoft abandoned its rights to Nokia. Nokia is known to be the top manufacturer of the so-called dumb phone back in the late 90's for a more than a decade.
Nokia used the Microsoft Windows Mobile OS in 2011 after their struggle updating the Symbian S60 OS. Nokia is now ready to release their new Nokia 6 that will run the Android OS for the first time and is expected to rise again in the smartphone competition.
