The 6’11” center has been a dominant force in Sacramento Kings since he was selected as fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. He is definitely a good player, but his attitude has made him to have many tense argument with the coach. Most of the times, the Sacramento Kings front office took his side which made his atttiude become worse.
Sacramento Kings plan to extend his contract which will exceed $200 million is also questioned by Sacramento Bee. They asked whether the fans are willing to pay $200 million for five years to Cousins. It is undeniable that he has talent, but Cousins suffers a lack of dignity, childish petulance, crass demeanor, disrespect, intemperance, an abject lack of self-control according to the Bee.
In his career, he is known for being a trouble maker and a bully. He did not do his bully to the coaches but also with opposing team. In one game in 2012-13 season he attempted to bully hall of famer Tim Duncan and criticized by the color commentator Sean Elliott.
Cousins was unhappy with Elliott criticism and confronted him with hostile off court. Resulting the NBA suspend him for two games. Such behavior and suspension because of fighting other player has become a common trait for Cousins.
In the most recent incident in December, he was ejected because the officials consider him spitting his mouthpiece to the Trailblazers bench. However the decision was revoked after the officials discussed the decision.
For Sacramento Kings, he may be able to help them pass the 8th position in the Western Conference, but he may also pose bigger problem with the massive contract. Watch the discussion about his contract extension in the The Fumble, below:
