The so-called cursed New York Knicks still hangs on the NBA standing as the team's struggle continues. Carmelo Anthony is reportedly the problem of the team, while Rose demands defensive efforts on his teammates.
Last January 11th, the Knicks came from a tough loss as the Bucks rallied back and snatch the game on a buzzer beater shot by Giannis Antetokounmpo. Though the game was packed of bad officiating, still, the Knicks got another lose right on their homecourt.
After another shocking, Carmelo Anthony was very upset that he even almost criticize his team. In a report made by the Bleacher Report, Anthony said that the loss against the Sixers is very unacceptable, having their lead diminished in the last 2 minutes of the game.
As seen in the current record, the Knicks is obviously inconsistent, they may be a good offensive team, but they had a very awful defensive run. With their defensive performance, the Knicks found themselves near the bottom of the NBA standings, again.
On the other hand, after the controversial absence of Derrick Rose and the devastating loss against the Sixers, Rose demands a tougher defense of their team. In a report made by the ESPN, Rose spoke to the Knicks Head Coach Jeff Hornacek asking him to push the team to make some extra efforts on the defensive end of the court.
Rose admitted that their team is inconsistent on defense, resulting in a tough loss on their previous games. Rose also cited that they need to work on the defensive rotation on-court and needs to know who to guard and where to go in a tight and quick scenario.
The New York Knicks is expected to earn back their Playoffs spot after a couple of absences in the post-season. With their current roster, fans are expecting they will be buying tickets for the Playoffs games in the Madison Square Garden.
Several basketball critics said that the team needs to work on their defensive chemistry. Carmelo Anthony needs to work hard on his conditioning training and maintain stamina to be able for him to work on defense.
Today, the Knicks' mid season is getting tougher as the season schedule starts to shrink. If the Knicks really want a Playoffs spot, they need to start working on defense or else, they will end up again on an early vacation.
