Jung Joon Young returns to "2 Days & 1 Night" and this certainly made fans happy. They have long been waiting for the day when he gets reunited with the cast members, and it finally happened on the Jan. 15 broadcast of the show.
The latest airing of "2 Days & 1 Night" was somehow a reunion episode as the youngest member shows up after almost four months of hiatus. However, for Joon Young, his comeback was not easy.
On last Sunday's episode, the producers gave him a mission which is to climb the snow covered Mt. Jiri. Moreover, the PD said that he cannot join the rest of the members for filming if he fails his mission.
Then again, there is something that will save him from climbing to the top of Manbok Peak in Mt. Jiri. It takes three and a half hours to reach the top by hiking, but he could turn back and not finish the hike provided that the five members, who were simultaneously filming at another location, will mention his name 30 times.
It was an impossible mission but Joon Young stayed positive and held on to the belief that the members will call for him often during the shoot. And as he climbs, he would asks the crew if his name was mentioned yet.
OSEN noted that the rest of the "2 Days & 1 Night" members - Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Jong Min, Kim Joon Ho, Yoon Shi Yoon and Deffcon, do not know about the task that they need to accomplished for Joon Young's sake. Thus, when they were asked to picked a paper and it revealed the highest number of 30, they thought it was a good thing.
Next week's broadcast will reveal the members' reactions when they learn the truth about the number they chose. In any case, Joon Young already reached the summit of Manbok Peak as his name was only mentioned a couple of times. He failed to reunite with the members but he will surely join them on next episode.
Jung Joon Young's return to "2 days & 1 Night" was well-received. As a proof to how much the audience wants him back, his comeback episode went past the 20 percent viewership ratings mark, and the show ranked no. 1 on its Sunday time slot, Allkpop reported.
