Actor Steve Carell just pulled a huge prank on "The Office" fans.
On Thursday, Carell posted a tweet telling his followers that the hit NBC sitcom is getting revived. As expected, fans immediately expressed their excitement over the news. It was not until a few minutes later that Carell revealed that it was just a "typo," and what he really meant to type was "Will & Grace."
"Breaking News: "The Office" returning to NBC," Carell tweeted.
"Wait, sorry. I meant 'Will and Grace' (Typo)."

The actor's attempt to troll his fans was nothing but 100% successful. He even accused the character from HR, Toby Flenderson, of hacking his account. Flenderson, who's known to Office fans as Michael's most hated co-worker, is portrayed by showrunner Paul Liberstein. Carell played the role of Michael Scott, Regional Manager of Dundler Mifflin on "The Office" for six seasons.
Based on the UK version created by Ricky Gervais, "The Office" follows a mockumentary type format set on a fictional paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Over the course of its nine season run, the show received multiple awards and nominations at the Emmys and Golden Globes. Carell, for his part, won the Best Actor award for a comedy for playing the eccentric character of Scott in 2006.
It has already been four years after NBC aired the series finale of "The Office." Until now, the followers of the series have remained loyal to the property, which is a testament that it is indeed one of the best comedies ever made. Fans can only hope that NBC may consider revisiting the characters of Michael Scott, Dwight Shrute and Jim Halpert among many others in the future.
Created by Greg Daniels, "The Office" US also stars John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Craig Robinson, Oscar Nunez, Kate Flannery, Phyllis Smith, Creed Bratton, Ed Helms Ellie Kemper, and Leslie David Baker. The series finale aired on May 16, 2013.
