"Red Dead Redemption 2" is finally coming in autumn 2017. After a long wait, fans can already get their hands on the western-action adventure game.
For now, the biggest concern among fans is the playable characters of "Red Dead Redemption 2." It was confirmed that the game will feature seven playable characters in total. However, the rumor mill suggests that John Marston will not be one of the characters in the sequel.
John Marston served as the main protagonist of the classic "Red Dead Redemption" and "Undead Nightmare." The cowboy guy (voiced by Rob Wiethoff) was affiliated to a great list of groups and characters in RDR, so this speculation can be quite hard to imagine for some. He was a central character and Rockstar even had a zombie version made just for him in the "Undead Nightmare DLC" pack.
According to Alphr, the follow-up game could be set prior to RDR. There is buzz in the gaming world that RDR2 will be set 12 years before the RDR takes place. This is why, those who already finished the classic game will understand why Marston might not be in a sequel.
Meanwhile, Rockstar Games confirmed via the PlayStation Blog that PS4 players will get the first access to earn select online content in RDR2. This was announced in line with the arrival of the PS3-playable "Red Dead Redemption" game to the PlayStation Now.
Earlier reports claimed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be released on Oct. 2, 2017. Rockstar Games has not announced an official release date so fans should take this information with a grain of salt.
The rumored release date is still unlikely because major game releases normally happen every Tuesday if not Friday. However, it's possible that it may happen on October.
What's confirmed is that it will not have any other title than "Red Dead Redemption 2" and that it will feature a map bigger than before. Developers are working hard to perfectly craft the game and make it available this year so let's just wait for updates in the near future. For now, watch this trailer from Rockstar Games:
