CL discusses U.S debut through an exclusive interview with Ilgan Sports recently. The singer also hinted a possible reunion with her former band, 2NE1.
The 25-year old singer was asked about the two years she spent in the U.S., and said that it was hard going overseas alone and doing everything along. As she revealed, Yang Hyun Suk helped her out a lot, doing a lot of things with different people for her U.S debut.
CL then compared her time in the U.S to her time as a trainee before. "When I first entered YG, I spent two and a half years as a trainee. During that time, I came into my own style and learned about the Korean music industry," Soompi reported.
The singer continued that she also spent two years preparing for her U.S. debut and feels like she is a trainee once again. CL added that in the U.S., she is still a rookie where she learned how to make albums and communicate with her American fans.
For fear that she might be forgotten after not having promotions for so long, the singer then released her new songs, "Hello Bitches" and "Lifted," as reported by Fuse. She also revealed that Director Yang was her support in Korea, while Scooter Braun booked her shows, although, it was not an official debut yet.
Revealing her 2017 wishes, CL shared that she'd like to officially debut, release an album, and do a lot of promotions for her U.S. career and promised to repay her fans with a great album. The singer also divulged that it was her dream to penetrate the American market since Pop music is what has influenced her the most in her musical career.
Meanwhile, director Yang previously discussed 2NE1's reunion like S.E.S, and when asked about it, CL agreed, saying, "I think it could happen too. Of course, all four of us would have to agree, and our situation have to allow it." continuing that if that day ever comes, she will be so happy.
