"Men in Black 3" actor Michael Stuhlbarg and "The Bleeder" actor Jim Gaffigan are joining the cast of "Fargo" Season 3. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" actor Ewan McGregor will topline the upcoming season and play the dual roles of brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy.
According to Variety, Stuhlbarg joins the cast as Emmit's right-hand man and consigliere Sy Feltz in "Fargo" Season 3. Meanwhile, Gaffigan will play Donny Mashman, who is the deputy of Gloria Burgle ("The Leftover" actress Carrie Coon) at the local police department named Donny Mashman.
"Argo" actor Scoot McNairy also stars as a stoner Maurice LeFay with a criminal past in "Fargo" Season 3. "Deadpool" actor Karan Soni will play as scientist Dr. Homer Gilruth, "Casual" actor Fred Melamed as Howard Zimmerman, who is a mover and a shaker with a knack for spinning a yarn and making a profit, "American Hustle" actor Shea Whigham as Meeker County chief of police Moe Dammick, and "Project X" actor Thomas Mann as the award-winning science fiction author Thaddeus Mobley, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
In "Fargo" Season 3, Emmit is described as the Parking Lot King of Minnesota who sees himself as an American success story, while Ray is more of a cautionary tale. Their sibling rivalry leads to a twisted path that begins with petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters, and cut-throat competitive bridge. Burgle is a steady chief of the Edna Valley police department and a newly divorced mother who is trying to understand the new world around her.
Noah Hawley is the creator of "Fargo." At the same time, he executive produces with Joel and Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield, and John Cameron. MGM Television and FX Productions are behind the series.
The "Fargo" Season 3 production is currently underway in Calgary. No premiere date has been set. However, the new season will air this year.
