"The Last of Us 2" will hit the market this year the Naughty Dog confirmed in the recent PlayStation Experience last December. The developer said that the story will revolve around Ellie and her past.
The Naughty Dog didn't mention anything about the upcoming sequel of "The Last of Us" aside from revealing the story, which is about Ellie. The Video Games Republic said that Ellie will be the main protagonist of the upcoming "The Last of Us 2" as per the developers said and will focus on her past so that the audiences would the deeper side of the story.
Ellie was a main character in the first title of "The Last of Us" and used to be a second character of the game. The 14-year old Ellie is an admirable character of the game and is the main reason why the game has a rich storyline.
In an interview with the game director Neil Druckmann, he said that Ellie is full of hatred and is seeking for revenge to those people who created the said plague in the story. Ellie will still be accompanied by Joel in the upcoming "The Last of Us 2" in some cases of the game.
A spoiler came up earlier about the story of the game saying that Ellie is a gay character. Revealed by the Attack of the Fan Boy, it has been confirmed by the game director Niel Druckmman that Ellie was originally created as a gay one.
Back on the Left Behind DLC of "The Last of Us" first title, there is another playable character named Riley. During the course of the game, both girls came up with a decision that they need to choose between shooting themselves or enjoy the rest of their lives together as they are both infected by the virus.
Several fans were shocked and surprised at the next scene showed Ellie kissing Riley. Right after that moment, Ellie quickly apologized and Riley accepted it by heart.
Druckmann said that while he was writing about the idea of Ellie being a gay, the actresses of the game came up an idea that both characters are attracted to each other. It was a scene where both characters are relying on each other since no one could provide them such help they need in order to survive.
It was an act of chemistry said Drukmaan, seeing all the efforts and their chemistry gave a lot of inspiration for the game's storyline. With those scenes at "The Last of Us" Left Behind, fans are now excited to know more about Ellie and her past.
