TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting Station) reveals a new original animation TV series "Action Heroine Cheer Fruits," which as the name implies focuses on local action heroines trying to revitalize their fruit-growing town of Hinano City.
"Action Heroine Cheer Fruits" focuses on Misaki Shirogane's adventures with her friends in boosting the local tourism and highlighting the fruit cultivation from the sleepy town of Hinano, according to Anime News Network. Misaki is encouraged by her aunt, the town's prefectural governor, to become a local heroine fighter and hold live events to revive Hinano and its fruit growing cultivation.
Misaki and her friends do live action events to promote their hometown and unexpectedly become a hit nationwide, as per Crunchyroll. The series follows their efforts to promote their town through the power of fruits. A 30-second ad for "Action Heroine Cheer Fruits" was released by TBS to promote the series. Other information regarding the show such as the cast, release date and the staff hasn't been released yet.
From the 30-second ad, it seems that Misaki's get-up is inspired by tokusatsu outfits. The series seems to be a blend of tokusatsu superhero series and a promotional tie-in to boost tourism through agriculture. Surprisingly, "Action Heroine Cheer Fruits" is not the first anime to promote tourism using agriculture, as anime series "Agukaru" has done that first.
What makes "Action Heroine Cheer Fruits" different is that Misaki and friends use the power of fruits to promote their town. In "Agukaru," the main characters focus on farming, and even discuss farming techniques. The show might discuss different cultivation techniques for growing fruits instead.
Since no further information has been released yet about "Action Heroine Cheer Fruits," it's not yet known if the anime will get one season or just a series of shorts similar to the style of "Agukaru".
