A time-traveling romantic comedy, titled "Tomorrow With You," will take on the time slot of tvN's highest rated drama "Goblin" starting Feb. 3. The newest drama will feature Shin Min-A and Lee Je Hoon, who will be drawn together to avoid an unfortunate fate.
Korea Herald reported "Tomorrow With You" is a pre-produced drama with a total of 16 episodes. The production, headed by Director Yoo Je Won, started rolling in September and concluded in mid-December.
The director said the upcoming drama is a mixture of genres; however, Yoo Je Won added is hopeful that viewers will look into the romantic side of the series rather than its genres.
"Tomorrow With You" will revolve around the life of Yoo So Jon (Lee Je Hoon), who is capable of time-traveling. After seeing his unfortunate future, the real estate CEO will marry Song Ma Rin (Shin Min-A) in hopes to change his fate, Korea Times cited.
Lee Je Hoon admitted he accepted the project to try something different from his usual "sharp and strong" roles. "This time I wanted to do a romance comedy that viewers can feel close to and feel at ease," he said.
The 32-year-old actor is best known from his roles in "Signal," "Secret Door" and "Fashion King." Meanwhile, Shin Min-A stated she wanted to give the audience a fresh image by acting naturally in "Tomorrow With You."
"I tried to act as natural as possible to portray an ordinary 31-year-old woman with agonies, who would be around you at any time. Playing a realistic character would come as fresh to viewers," the actress said.
Shin Min-A previously starred in fantasy dramas "My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox" and "Tale of Arang."
On the other hand, Yoo Je Won hinted many of the fantastical scenes in the upcoming drama were shot in ordinary places. The director also admitted he felt pressured following the success of "Goblin" which earned an average rating of 20.5 percent.
Despite the loads on his shoulder, Yoo Je Won said "Tomorrow With You" is entirely different from its predecessor, hoping that will viewers will like the latter for what it has to offer.
