The hype and momentum for Nintendo's new Switch console makes it understandable for developers and studios to want to create versions for the machine. But apparently not everyone is eager to jump the franchise's bandwagon. "Titanfall 2," for example, was revealed not to have a Switch version, and the notion was even laughed at by senior developer Mohammad Alavi.

Why 'Titanfall 2' won't see the light of day on the Nintendo Switch

In an interview, the Respawn designer explained that a triple-AAA game such as "Titanfall 2" would need massive manpower and third-party support to be able to cross over consoles, VG 24/7 reported. As such, Alavi said, it's highly unlikely that players would get to see the game on the Nintendo Switch.

He further explained that due to being so "underpowered," the studio is not likely going to be able to fit "Titanfall 2" on the Nintendo Switch. He also clarified that this was always the case with Respawn games and NIntendo hardware, noting that the company's target market and niche has always been handheld games. "Titanfall 2," on the other hand, is the exact opposite of that, the same report stated.

'Titanfall 2' news and updates

Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment confirmed that a new "Titanfall 2" patch is arriving to fix bugs in the game. This includes adding damage buffs to certain weapons like the Flatline, the R-97 and the Spitfire. Furthermore, some of the pilot tools like the Volt submachine gun and the Pilot Sentry Boost are going to be downsized, according to World Wide Games. The patch also included a drastic reduction in the requirements for Match Loss Protection, which means there is an increased chance for players to not receive a match loss for joining a game late.

As for those who want to catch up with the game, "Titanfall 2" will become available on Amazon for only $35 on PS4 for a limited amount of time. XBox One and PC players, meanwhile, can get the title for $36.93 and $43.93, respectively, according to Dual Shockers.
