In the recovery process from his hamstring injury, Jeremy Lin experience regress in his recovery. He needs to have 3-5 more weeks to recovery and the Nets will have to play without their key player for more games.

The Nets announced that Lin needs to have more weeks to recover from his strain hamstring, as reported by NBA.com. He was reported to close to return to court when his hamstring injury aggravated again. The 28-year old player was also sidelined for three weeks last November for the same injury.

In his announcement, Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks said the team will not rush him to come back. The Nets will use a conservative and long-term approach in dealing with his injury.

''There's no need to rush him to back,'' Marks said. “We'll definitely be very cautious with him moving forward''

Lin was first injured his hamstring during the 109-101 victory over Detroit Pistons at the Nets home stadium Barclays Center on Nov. 2. He contributed 10 points and 4 assists in 16 minutes before being sidelined in the second quarter for his strain hamstring. The doctors expected him to miss at least two weeks of the game.

After three weeks of recovery, he returned to the game on Dec. 12 in the game against Houston Rockets that defeated the Nets 122-118. Lin played for 20 minutes and scored 10 points with 7 assists. He returned to starting-lineup starting Dec. 20 in the 104-116 loss against Toronto Raptors.

He injured his hamstring again in Dec. 26, according to report from CBS Sports . So he must be sidelined again and head coach Kenny Atkinson must return to rookie Isaiah Whitehead to play the point guard with Spencer Dinwiddie as the backup. Coach Atkinson also often put shooting guard Sean Kilpatrick to play point guard, but he hasn’t found the right replacement during Lin’s absence.
