Preview
Sacramento is currently 11th in the West after losing eight of their last 10 matches. The team has struggled so far this season and if they cannot string several wins soon, then they are at risk of being eliminated from the playoffs for the 11th straight year.
The Kings snapped a five-game losing streak on Monday night after nipping the Detroit Pistons, 109-104, on the road at The Palace of Auburn Hills, the Sacramento Bee reported.
Veteran point guard Ty Lawson helped the squad turn the game around in the second period after the Pistons rolled to a 38-28 lead at the end of the opening quarter. The team limited Detroit to 19 and 23 points in the third and fourth quarters to come away with the victory.
DeMarcus Cousins top-scored for head coach Dave Joerger's side with 22 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks. Starting point guard Darren Collison had 12 points, four boards, and three assists while Garrett Temple, who replaced the injured Rudy Gay in the starting lineup, contributed 11 points, three rebounds, and four assists.
Lawson came off the bench to score 19 points and dish out six assists, most of them in the decisive second quarter.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are in a downward spiral right now with five losses in their last seven outings. They are still on top of the East, though, with the second-place Toronto Raptors still three games behind, but LeBron James is not happy about the team's deemed complacency.
James had an expletive-filled tirade about it following a 124-122 loss to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center last Monday, as per ESPN.
Kyrie Irving scored 49 points and had four assists, James produced a triple-double of 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, while Kevin Love had a monster double-double of 22 points and 16 boards with six assists, but it was still not enough to beat the Anthony Davis-less Pelicans.
Cleveland only got 13 points from their bench players, which is said to be an area of concern for head coach Tyronn Lue.
Prediction
The Kings are 9-14 on the road this season while the Cavs are 19-4 at home. A bounce-back win for Cleveland is predicted.
