Recent casting news for "The Predator" involves the addition of action star Thomas Jane. He is reportedly in final talks to appear in the reboot.
According to The Wrap, Jane is in final negotiations with Fox for his appearance in "The Predator." However, the site did not mention his role in the sci-fi reboot. Given Jane's experience in action movies though, it is safe to assume that he plays another gun-trotting character.
The actor is expected to join the rest of the casts when production for "The Predator" starts in February. Filming for the said reboot takes place in Vancouver.
Jane is most famous for his portrayal of Frank Castle in "The Punisher" movies. He first appeared as Marvel's vigilante in the 2004 film. He reprised the character in the 2012 film "Dirty Laundry." He also voiced Jonah Hex in the animated "DC Showcase: Jonah Hex." Jane has other film credits under his name including "Before I Wake," "Boogie Nights," "Deep Blue Sea" and "The Thin Red Line."
"The Punisher" star also appeared in the TV series "Hung" from 2009 to 2011. He reportedly recently finished filming Stephen King's "1992" for Netflix. Outside of "The Predator" Jane is also working with Lakeshore Entertainment and Open Roads Film for the movie called "Miles."
However, his appearance in "The Predator" would mark as his second appearance in a studio movie after "Before I Wake." He has reportedly not appeared in many major motion pictures in recent years.
Meanwhile, details about "The Predator" so far remain scarce. According to Cinema Blend, the film is set in a suburban neighborhood, with several of the alien hunters running around. Jane joins other casts including Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key. The film is scheduled for release in US theaters on Feb. 9, 2018.
