It looks like another familiar face from "Breaking Bad" will be making an appearance on "Better Call Saul" Season 3.
Actor Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman on the original series, has dropped a hint that his fan-favorite character might be making a comeback on the prequel. During his latest appearance on "The Ellen Show," Paul was asked if he will be reprising the role on "Better Call Saul."
"God, I hope so," the actor replied.
"Maybe I already shot it. We just -- or they just -- wrapped the [most recent] season."
The interview footage was shared by The Ellen Show on Youtube.
While the actor did not confirm anything, the way he answered the question seems to really suggest that Jesse Pinkman is making an appearance in some capacity. This could be true, however, it is also possible that he's only teasing the fans. There's no word yet from the producers about Paul's latest comment.
Should Aaron Paul do make a surprising return, he will be joining Giancarlo Esposito in the new season of "Better Call Saul." As previously reported, Esposito is now confirmed to reprise his role as nefarious drug kingpin, Gus Fring. While details on how he will figure into the show's current storyline are still under wraps, the idea of him and Jimmy crossing paths is certainly something fans are looking forward to see.
"I"m excited to be back. Gus is a cagey character," Esposito said about revisiting the character.
"I'm going back to the original stage direction that was really inspiring to me, which was 'Hiding in plain sight.' You're not who you think you are. Sometimes you have different agendas and go about achieving things in different ways."
Fans will remember that Fring has been one of Walter White/Heisenberg's biggest archenemy in "Breaking Bad." His death in season 4 has become one of the most memorable scenes on the show's history.
"Better Call Saul" stars Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Michael Mando, Michael McKean, Patrick Fabian and Rhea Seehorn. Season 3 premieres on Monday, April 10 on AMC.
