Avid "Resident Evil 7" gamers have revealed a guide on how to complete the hardest puzzle in the game-the "Happy Birthday" puzzle. Players can follow the walkthrough detailed below.
According to Gamespot, "Resident Evil 7" players are at the right puzzle when they see these labels "Happy Birthday" and "Experiment: Can trespassing idiots solve puzzles?" within the game. From here, they need to turn around and grab the candle from the body. Gamers next make their way to the kitchen and towards the birthday cake. At this point, the light from the candle will go out, but a ceiling light immediately turns on.
Gamers then return to where they first started in the kitchen. By this time, the kitchen is bright enough to make out a dirty bathroom. Players should go inside the bathroom and flush the toilet. The water will overflow, which should bring out a telescope from the bowl. Exit the kitchen and move towards the monitors on the wall. Use the telescope on the monitors to see a figure of a hanging person, gravestone and fetus light up. Use these symbols to open the lock in the cake room.
Then, once the cake room is unlocked, gamers will grab the straw doll and burn it at the stove in the kitchen. What remains of the doll is the dummy finger, which needs to be attached to the body where gamers got the candle from. Now, return to the kitchen, light up the candle on the stove and go back to the room with the monitors. From there, look for a door locked with a rope and use the candle on the rope to unlock the door.
Enter the room and pick up the deflated balloon on the corner. Head back to the kitchen and blow up the balloon using the gas leak from the pipe on the wall. A nail and a quill pen pops out of the balloon and "Resident Evil 7" gamers only need to use the quill pen. Head back to the body and put the pen on its hand.
Gamers then return to the cake room and grab the winding key from the keg in the corner. Use the key on the body and it should start giving you a tattoo of the word "Loser." Head back to the balloon room and unlock the secret room at the back using the word. Once inside the new room, grab the valve handle on the wall pinned under the words "here" scrawled on the wall. Return to the cake room and use the handle on the pipe to the left. This will shut down the flow of water.
Players then return to the kitchen to light up the candle on the stove and put the candle on the cake. This completes the "Happy Birthday" puzzle in "Resident Evil 7."
In related news, Capcom announced on its blog that the first expansion for "Resident Evil 7" comes on Jan. 31 for the PlayStation 4 and on Feb. 21 for PC and Xbox One. The DLC contains two "Banned Footage," namely the Bedroom and the Nightmare scenario and a separate mode called "Ethan Must Die."
