Wonder Girls members are calling it quits after 10 years! JYP Entertainment has confirmed disbanding rumors in an official statement released on Thursday.
According to Korea Times, the label revealed the decision to disband came after thorough discussions on the direction of the members after their contracts with JYP Entertainment expired.
The agency added Yubin and Hyerim have decided to stick with them, while Yeeun and Sunmi have refused to re-sign with the agency. Wonder Girls is set to celebrate their 10th year on Feb. 10; hence, the girl group will release their final digital single on that day as a way to thank the fans for their support since 2007.
Following the announcement, Sunmi took to her Instagram account to share a throwback photo of Wonder Girls and dedicate a sincere message to their supporters, Soompi cited.
The Wonder Girls member started her message with an apology for keeping tight-lipped about the disbandment rumors. Sunmi also expressed her gratitude for being a part of the girl group.
"Right now I don't have words to express my feelings, but I hope that everyone will remember us fondly even in 10 or 20 years," she wrote.

Sunye, who left Wonder Girls in 2015, also shared her thoughts about the disbandment through a Twitter post. The former member thanked the fans for their all-out support despite many changes in the group.
The idol is hopeful that fans will continue to cheer on each member as they take on different paths.
Wonder Girls initially debuted as a seven-member band formed by Producer Park Jin Young. Hyuna left in 2007, while members Sunye and Sohee departed from the girl group in the same year.
The K-Pop girl group rose to fame after the release of "Nobody" in 2008, earning them the awards Song of the Year and Best Music Video as well as Best Female Group at the Mnet KM Music Festival Awards.
