"Shameless" actor Steve Kazee and "The Vampire Diaries" alums David Alpay and DeVaughn Nixon join the Syfy's drama pilot "The Haunted." The show is beefing up its cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kazee will play Ellis Bradley in "The Haunted." He is the oldest of the siblings and the closest to their parents' unusual line of work. He is a quiet man and a lifelong bachelor whose complicated past comes to light following his parents' deaths.
Alpay will play the second oldest Bradley sibling Virgil in "The Haunted," Deadline reported. He is a highly motivated corporate litigator and a family man whose life unravels following his parents' funeral.
Meanwhile, Nixon will play the role of Detective James Terry in the Savannah Police Department in "The Haunted." He investigates the strange circumstances surrounding the elder Bradley's death along with his partner. He is described as an inquisitive man and operates on his instincts, listening and noticing things others may not.
The trio joins a cast that includes former "Nikita" star Lyndsy Fonseca and "Jessica Jones" actress Elizabeth Cappuccino in "The Haunted." Fonseca and Cappucino are set as the two Bradley sisters, namely, Juno Bradley and Hester Bradley, respectively.
"The Haunted" is ordered to pilot in September. It is a supernatural horror-drama about four siblings, namely, Juno, Virgil, Ellis, and Hester, who reunite following the death of their parents. As they try to overcome their fractured personal relationships, they find that they also must face the literal ghosts from their pasts in order to survive.
"The Magicians" scribe Noga Landau penned the pilot for "The Haunted" and will co-executive produce the Universal Cable Productions project. Author James Frey and Todd Cohen of Full Fathom Five will executive produce.
Kazee's other credits include his Tony-winning performance in the Broadway musical "Once" and a two-episode arc on "Nashville." Alpay is known for his series regular roles on "Quantico," "The Borgias," and "The Tudors." Nixon's credits also include Whitney Houston's son in "The Bodyguard," "Terminator 2," and "Prom."
